The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals and is seeking a full-time Manager, Conference & Event Services to work with the multiple projects within the Academy. In this role, the Manager will collaborate with multiple internal departmental teams regarding the many aspects of planning of events from travel, hotel, audio-visual and billing.
Responsibilities:
Support Sr. Manager with FNCE® attendee communication. Work with Sr. Manager at testing phase of the registration form build, assist in testing a provide edits/feedback. Manage day-to-day registration leading up to and on-site (includes ordering badge holders, working with vendor to design badge, etc.)
Manage and direct a full range of projects, including, but not limited to: FNCE Hotel management including integral meeting specifications, food & beverage, audio-visual and well as key management of all hotel events.
Work with Director to provide recommendations and insight into the DPG planning process for FNCE. Organize and prioritize member and dietetic practice group events for FNCE® as well as DPG Spring Meetings. Provide planning support and track deadlines effectively. Engage in regular team members via conference calls, video conferencing, emails, and in-person meetings/events.
Work collaboratively with varying cultures, demographics, and areas inside and outside of the Academy.
Support an inclusive environment for volunteer leaders to work together.
Collaborate with internal staff on programming and alignment of projects with the Academy’s Strategic Plan.
Responsibilities to include travel, member and attendee communication and engagement, hotels and shipments operations and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. CMP designation a must.
3-5 years of relevant job experience required. Ideal candidates will have experience working with associations, non-profit, or volunteer groups. Experience with chapters or special interest groups is beneficial.
A “member first” approach, strong listening skills, and the ability to manage and complete projects. Strong communication, volunteer, and project management skills are necessary.
A background in healthcare, food, or nutrition is advantageous but not required.
Some travel is required. (pending current safety guidelines).
Location: Chicago, IL (position eligible for partial telecommuting from Chicagoland area)
