The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) seeks an experienced Email Marketing Specialist to provide digital marketing support essential to Communications department efforts. The Email Marketing Specialist will support promotion campaigns that build on the PCORI brand, encourage engagement, and increase our community of stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities
The email marketing specialist will work closely with the Content and Creative Associate Director to:
Inform and implement email marketing strategies based on clear goals that build on PCORI's brand and integrate with communications campaign strategies seeking to increase visibility and engagement with PCORI's funding announcements, advisory panels, merit reviews, subscriber lists and other opportunities.
Perform database segmentation, identify target audiences, and build and maintain our email subscriber lists to include purging non-deliverable addresses, opt-outs, suppression lists, and recipients unlikely to engage.
Lead day-to-day construction and execution of all PCORI email campaigns and sends to include email campaign set up; building and maintaining responsive email templates; crafting compelling email copy; developing strong calls-to-action; testing, tagging and deployment of one-time, reoccurring and dynamic content-driven campaigns; monitoring and tracking campaign results; and ensuring design and delivery optimization.
Create and implement a testing plan to ensure subject lines, content, layout, and send times of all emails are optimized based on data and results. Advise on improvements.
Build and execute email automation campaigns to include welcome emails, new subscriber emails, re-engagement campaigns, mature subscriber personalized content emails, and emails targeted to different stakeholder audiences.
Work within our customer relationship management (CRM) system, Salesforce, supporting email automation software, enabling PCORI to serve up specific content tailored to specific stakeholder audiences.
Evaluate e-mail marketing performance, draw insights, and provide recommendations for optimization.

Required Skills
Ability to implement a data-driven approach to email messaging, automation, dynamic content and personalization.
Skilled with email marketing performance metric tools and A/B testing methods.
Understanding of social media, SEO and paid media and their respective roles in email marketing.
Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner.
Detail-oriented; strong organizational and project management skills.
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, perform well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines and objectives.
Ability to think independently and problem solve, as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
Clear, strong, and effective oral and written communications skills.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; specialization in marketing, communications or a related discipline strongly preferred.
3+ years’ experience in email/digital marketing or equivalent area required.
2+ years’ experience setting up email automation campaigns and tasks and dynamic content.
2+ years’ experience with basic HTML/CSS coding.
Experience with UTM tracking codes and other tracking technologies.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM and their integrated email marketing tools. May substitute experience with email marketing software such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite; Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator preferred.
Experience with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams strongly preferred.
