The Professional Services Council (PSC) seeks a Membership Associate, who will support the recruitment of new members and support relevant work on the member database. The incumbent would be an energetic, customer service focused, detail-oriented associate. This pivotal position interacts with all stakeholders and requires friendly collaboration with association volunteers and other staff members. The incumbent reports to the Senior Vice President of Membership and Marketing and supports relevant work on PSC’s other activities. PSC is conveniently located near the Ballston Metro Station in Arlington, VA and easily accessible to I-66.
New Member Support
Serves as the primary contact for incoming prospective new member requests, fielding initial questions on value, costs, and level/type/issues of interest, etc.
Provides the full life cycle support of the research, marketing, sales, invoicing, and reporting in support of the PSC’s membership goals.
Supports the new member recruitment goal by:
Researching prospective member companies to generate leads of prospective member companies.
Ensuring all new member leads are captured and processed into our lead development systems.
Supporting key prospecting follow-up in support of member recruitment.
Coordinating meetings and supporting ongoing communication with prospective member companies.
Generating reports for insight into new membership recruitment.
Supporting all invoicing of new members.
Providing support to new large account executives to ensure the highest level of customer service throughout the year.
Supports all data requests including analysis, tracking and report of prospective new members as well as all market and industry data.
Supports the Marketing Team’s recruitment campaigns and communications to new member prospects.
Ensures membership materials are available for all meetings.
Supports the Senior Vice President of Membership and Marketing at Membership events including member orientation and sales meetings.
Maintains and organizes updates to the membership recruitment materials, PowerPoints, invoices, and the relevant sections of the website, etc.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Supports the Events Team as needed at physical event locations with event set-up, registration, and take-down.
Works with the Membership Team to improve the database and its capabilities to meet the changing needs of internal staff and the organization.
Engages finance department to reconcile receipts.
Uses the database to create reports and tools for other departments.
Recommend and implement new department efficiencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years relevant work experience in membership, customer service and/or sales.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and professionally in a creative, fast-paced, intellectual team environment.
Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to interact in a professional manner with the highest levels of corporate/civic constituents.
Excellent computer skills including knowledge and experience of MS Office.
Knowledge of IMIS or other CRM software.
Must be able to lift 25lbs and stand on your feed for extended periods of time.
Occasionally travel when needed for events, including weekends.
Energetic/outgoing personality is a plus.
Technologically savvy or willing to learn.
