The Utility Notification Center of Colorado (CO811) is seeking an Executive Director who can lead the Company and build on its proud legacy in new and creative ways – an Executive Director who will be motivated to explore innovative approaches and pursue continuous improvement for the organization.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive.
Position Summary
Provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure that the mission, goals, and objectives are achieved in an efficient and cost-effective manner. In collaboration with, and under the general vision set forth by the Board of Directors, provides hands-on management of all areas of the organization including membership value and development, employee relations and development, finance and accounting, internal and external communication, technology, facilities and political, government and public relations.
Board & Association Relations
Plays the lead role in the implementation of the board developed and approved strategic plan. Monitors progress of objectives delegated to key staff to ensure completion.
Engages and communicates regularly with the Board of Directors to keep them apprised of progress toward established goals. Provides the board with sufficient internal, economic, legislative & industry updates to enable them to make sound decisions for the Company.
Attends regular and executive board meetings as a matter of business and special meetings as required.
Researches, proposes, and implements changes to policies, by-laws and programs approved by the Board of Directors that will improve the financial or value position of the Company.
Builds and maintains effective relationships with all stakeholders, key partners, committees, and task forces.
Encourages staff/board interaction to ensure a continuous flow of information without developing any silos/walls.
Internal Relations
Works in conjunction with the Treasurer, Controller and Budget & Finance Committee to develop annual budgets that reinforces the mission and maintains financial stability.
Authorizes all invoices, financial statements, and expenses regarding the day-to-day operation of the Company. Reviews and authorizes contracts as authorized by the board or ad hoc expenditures approved by the Executive Committee.
Manages the company according to the by-laws, policies, applicable laws and best practices.
Monitors and supervises all functions of staff.
Administers office procedures and employee evaluations.
Responsible for developing the staff and providing training to staff so that they reach their full potential.

Education and/or Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or similar is preferred.
A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive more responsible management in non-profit associations, ideally including experience in contact center operations.
May have an equivalent combination of education and experience as listed above.
