Position Summary: The Vice President of Finance & Administration oversees all finance/accounting, human resources, facilities, information technology, contract management and other administrative matters for the Federation and its related organizations. As the chief advisor to the President & CEO, Executive Vice President and senior executive team on financial planning, reporting, budgeting and operations and organizational legal/regulatory compliance, the position supervises a team of in-house administrative personnel and outsourced accounting and human resources professionals in the execution of these tasks. The position reports to the Executive Vice President.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of the Federation’s strategic goals and operations and assist with the overall management of the organization and stewardship of its resources
Supervise, direct and organize the work of the in-house and outsourced finance/accounting, human resources, information technology and office operations teams in line with the administrative goals and needs and goals of the Federation and other related organizations managed by the Federation
Develop annual operating budgets and recommendations on investment policies
Provide analytical support to the Federation’s senior management team, including the monitoring of budgets for service contracts with external clients
Serve as the organization’s primary staff liaison on financial matters to the Federation’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, external auditors and supporting financial institutions
Ensure organizational federal, state, and local legal and regulatory compliance
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Business, Finance or Accounting degree mandatory; CPA and/or MBA a plus
Five to ten years of financial managerial experience (preferably in non-profit organizations)
Familiarity with non-profit finance and accounting standards, regulations and external audit procedures
Experience managing office facilities and information technology systems
Successful track record of facilitating organizational administrative and operational changes
Ability to work on-site at the Federation’s office in Arlington, VA

NMPF addresses policies concerning milk pricing, domestic and international market development, agriculture credit and taxation, environmental issues, food safety and health, animal welfare, product standards and labeling, and research and biotechnology.
