The Assistant Director, Exhibits & Sponsorship is responsible for exhibit space, sponsorship fulfillment, and marketing of exhibit and sponsorship opportunities for AMCP’s two national meetings. The role builds relationships with current and potential exhibitors, sponsors, and third-party support vendors, to ensure their needs are met in a professional manner. The position works with the Meetings team to ensure the effective fulfillment and management of benefits to sponsors.
More specifically, key responsibilities include:
Create and maintain the exhibit sales platform and sponsorship gallery.
Assign booths, issue invoices, assist with meeting registration, and maintain routine correspondence with exhibitors and sponsors.
Manage the on-site logistics for the expo floor and all meeting sponsorship activities at both national meetings.
Implement a plan for continuous exhibitor engagement and ensure exhibitors and sponsors understand the AMCP audience and have appropriate messaging.
Work with the Director of Meetings and Conventions to develop budget and sales goals for exhibit revenue items.
Identify prospective exhibitors and conduct outreach (including 1:1 meetings, informational “open houses,” and email campaigns) to build industry relationships.
Work cross departmentally with Business Strategies and Meetings teams to identify new sponsorship and other B&B meeting related opportunities and collaborate on sales approaches to potential clients
Work with Director, Membership Operations & Data Analytics, Technology, and Business Strategies teams to develop and maintain a prospect/sales database and pull reports to help build and support outreach campaigns.
Work with Meetings team to ensure the effective fulfillment and management of benefits to sponsors.
Collaborate with Brand Marketing and Communications team to create effective promotional materials to communicate value proposition of each event and exhibiting
Maintains general knowledge of other AMCP B2B products to help identify cross-selling opportunities and answer questions.
Provides weekly sales reports and forecasts

Desired Qualifications:
B2B and health care sales experience
Knowledge/experience with Salesforce
CEM (Certification in Exposition Management) or CMP preferred
Bachelor’s Degree and at least five years’ experience in sponsorship management and exhibits sales; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Demonstrated sales experience in new client generation and ability to close sale over the phone and in person.
Exhibits high level of customer service and identifies ways to improve service levels.
Strong organizational and project management skills
