The DE&I Manager serves as the primary subject matter expert and architect of the association's diversity equity and inclusion strategies and relations plans and programs throughout the association. The position oversees the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of such initiatives.
This is an administrative, full-time, staff position and will be eligible to participate in NAWIC’s Employee Health and Benefits Plan as set forth in NAWIC’s personnel policy. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is eligible for merit and cost-of-living increases.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department and for volunteers across the association.
Works with the Executive Director (ED) and Board to assess the association’s efforts on diversity and cross-cultural inclusion programs, establishes best practices and identifies programs to remove barriers that affect volunteer retention and advancement.
Has overall responsibility for diversity and cross-cultural efforts, collaborating with national staff, the board, and volunteers for initiatives and programs.
Directs the design of and engages in platform training and direct development of online training programs on both diversity and cross-cultural awareness.
Maintains metrics and prepares periodic reports for the ED and Board to evaluate and measure diversity and cross-cultural resource initiatives for return on investment.
Directs the development of survey instruments to measure satisfaction of initiatives.
Develops coaching strategies, implements dialogues that address specific concerns and issues, and oversees resolution of conflicts/disputes relating to diversity and/or cross- cultural initiatives and activities.
Creates instruments linking diversity and cross-cultural awareness to the organization's performance management processes and the business plan.
Assists with all national committees as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and professional experience.
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in developing solutions and implementing strategies with focus on diversity and cross-cultural resource efforts in an association.
Experience effectively working collaboratively with persons from diverse backgrounds.
Experience facilitating conversations among participants with varied perspectives.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
