Want to play a critical role in a dynamic, important American industry? The International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) seeks a highly-engaged, inspirational and results oriented leader as their Vice President, Industry Relations. IFDA’s Vice President, Industry Relations works with IFDA’s Board of Directors and President & CEO to develop, communicate and execute the overall vision and action plan for the $303 billion foodservice distribution industry’s annual events, research, talent and technology initiatives. In addition, the position develops, implements and oversees strategies to grow IFDA’s Distributor, Partner and Allied memberships, sponsorships and accompanying dues revenue. The Vice President, Industry Relations lead’s a department of five directors. Periodic travel is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the planning and execution of IFDA’s industry-leading educational events, including exceptional content, a great attendee experience and outstanding member value;
Oversee the development and execution of IFDA’s original research and benchmarking;
Lead various committees and develop appropriate industry projects based on member needs - specifically the Operations Leadership Committee, Sales & Marketing Committee and Supplier Advisory Council;
Develop annual Industry Relations and Membership budgets and monitor ongoing adherence;
Represent IFDA at various industry events and prepare and deliver public speeches and presentations;
Develop and build mutually beneficial partnerships with allied industry associations and other stakeholders to further IFDA’s goals and priorities;
Collaborate with IFDA staff to provide event planning, coordination and execution for the Executive Leadership Summit, Truck Driver Hall of Fame, Distribution Solutions Conference and Expo, Partners Executive Forum, SMart Conference and the Truck Driving Championship; and,
Collaborate with the Director, Communications and Marketing on strategies to drive increased engagement via marketing and communications efforts in support of IFDA’s various events and services.
Knowledge, Skills and Education/Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree required;
10+ years in association management is preferable and consulting experience could be beneficial;
7+ years’ experience leading, managing and inspiring a team;
Skilled at working with different viewpoints to build consensus;
Forward-thinking and creative;
Demonstrated ability in planning and executing member learning programs and growing engagement;
Collaborative with exceptional people skills;
Capable of effectively working with member company senior executives;
Results oriented, organized and able to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines; and,
Self-sufficient with relevant computer and technology skills.
