To support our commitment in prioritizing the development of a DEI strategy that will be integrated across our organization, we are seeking a Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Reporting directly to our CEO/Executive Vice President, this newly designed role will develop and implement a modern and forward-looking DEI strategy and work on creating diversity action plans that hold us accountable.
This is a highly visible position, collaborating across all departments and working closely with IREM HQ Executives and senior leaders as well as with member leaders from diversity--focused committees to articulate and deliver on our initiatives.
Specific responsibilities include:
Developing, managing, and supporting data-based equity and inclusion strategies in support of the implementation plan to operationalize DE&I initiatives.
Driving leadership awareness, commitment, and accountability for DEI initiatives across the organization.
Leading the DEI Steering Committee comprised of IREM team members designed to embed DEI into all of IREM’s touch points, acting as the subject matter expert on all matters DEI and being accountable for championing the evolution of our DEI strategy
Partnering with the Director of Human Resources to assist with embedding equity and inclusion goals throughout the team member journey.
Collaborating and consulting with cross-functional teams, aligning diversity and inclusion capability in their respective areas to create and complete DEI goals, ensuring that equity and inclusion is embedded and woven into the overall IREM experience.
Creating effective connections with members, customers, partners, and the communities served relating to DEI initiative programs, progress and advancement.
Ensuring that IREM’s Governance structure is transparent and inclusive in its application process, selection of new leaders and volunteers, and terms of services.
Establishes KPIs to analyze the effectiveness of EID initiatives; reports progress and identifies opportunities for future areas of focus.

possess at least seven years of progressive experience leading equity, inclusion, and diversity programs and efforts in an organization and across teams.
have a strong grasp and understanding of the DEI landscape, language, and current events impacting and shaping DEI.

We also prefer that candidates possess a Bachelor’s degree in sociology, business management, and/or organization leadership or a diversity and inclusion program certificate.
