The Manager, Education & Programming will participate in the planning, support, and administration of event programming activities for ACG HQ’s virtual, hybrid and live events.
The successful candidate will use their experience to assist in the development, planning and support of innovative education and programming for both ACG HQ and OneACG Chapters as needed/required. This position will include program development, writing, editing, and creating education content, speaker research, speaker contracting and preparation, event schedule management and on-site support activities for education events. The Manager will engage with the SVP to expand the reach of the association’s education and professional development platforms through individual, team-based, and committee efforts.
The Manager will have a natural curiosity and be willing and able to immerse themselves in the world of middle market deal making by attending conferences, meeting industry rockstars on the speaking circuit, cultivating relationships with partners and firms, as well as consuming the content ACG’s media team produces weekly/monthly.
This position will be responsible for the management of a monthly roundtable series in collaboration with the ACG Media team, one yearly annual conference for 2,000+ people, the support of the Middle Market Professional certification program, and any other events as assigned to advance the mission of ACG and the OneACG growth plan.
The Manager will spearhead the creation of a speaker database (speakers, moderators, subject matter experts) that will feature best in class speakers from the ACG circuit and new voices representing diversity of thought and leadership as it is related to ACG’s expanding DEI initiatives.
This position will be responsible for collaborating with sponsors, and the sponsorship team, to develop content as needed. The Manager will also work with the event logistics team (room sets, A/V requirements, etc.) to design successful and innovative programs for ACG attendees, as well as coordinate conference calls and manage registration for stand-alone education events.
The ideal candidate will have association experience with in-depth knowledge of the professional education landscape, with a working knowledge of the finance world. In addition, the candidate must be:
Comfortable researching and vetting speakers, subject matter experts, current events/topics that will ensure ACG’s education is high-quality.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work across teams and disciplines.
Able to review and evaluate programs and processes to ensure success year over year.
Well organized with strong, professional, and pleasant communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
Ability to handle all administrative functions of this position including, call scheduling, collection of bios/headshots, prep calls, invitations to speak, speaker follow-up, and VIP treatment of all speakers throughout the process.
Detail oriented, process orientated and professional.
Able to work both as a member of the team and individually.
Able to travel, both domestic and international, as required.
Additional roles in support of the Events Team may be included.

Bachelor’s Degree required
5+ years’ experience in a professional association and/or financial institution; working in the education department preferred.
Experience in the middle market or mergers & acquisitions would be a plus.
Strong knowledge of association-based education
Previous experience with launching and/or managing continuing education credits.
Previous experience in a managerial position within an association or related organization preferred.
Strong organizational skills with a proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products including OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Monday.com, or a similar project management system.
Experience working with volunteers and volunteer committees.
Professional verbal and written communication skills with all audiences at all levels.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to execute tasks while conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
High level of attention to detail while working accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work directly with association members in a responsible, appropriate, and service oriented way.
Travel as needed (may include weekends).

Individual regularly listens to and speaks with peers, association members, vendors, and business leaders.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret data and information, effectively manage common inquiries or feedback from members, attendees, vendors, and the public.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams
Proficiency with cloud-based file sharing tools, survey tools, Zoom, CRM software, and ideas for how to use them effectively in the professional education arena.
Ability to quickly learn other technology as adopted by the team (i.e. web-based programs, CMS systems, registration systems, etc.).
Perform duties in a predominantly work from home environment, but ability to work in an office environment and while traveling on business.
Ability to have a safe, clean and dependable space to work in, free from noise or distraction.
Maintain strong Wi-Fi to enable uninterrupted work during business hours.
Some domestic and international travel by airplane may be required.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
