SUMMARY: The Greater Hartford Association of REALTORS® is seeking a Professional Development Manager. GHAR represents nearly 5,000 REALTORS® and is committed and is committed to a high level of service to our members and the real estate community. We strive to be the local advocate for REALTORS®; to promote professional growth of our members through exceptional support, resources and services; and to promote private property rights. This position is responsible for the successful delivery of professional development programs including continuing education courses, designation and certification courses, educational conferences, and relevant presentations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, develop and administer the Association’s Professional Development offerings.
Assess needs of members and licensees throughout the state and develop curriculum to meet those needs.
Vet distance education providers and negotiate relationships with select vendors to provide an array of high-quality, economical education options.
Coordinate, plan and implement all continuing education classes, seminars, and workshops for the association pursuant to the applicable regulations including scheduling and finalization of course offerings for input into the Association database and classroom reservations.
Ensure courses are appropriately instructor staffed; establish back up instructor list and identify alternate instructors in cases of emergency.
Stay abreast and demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of regulations which impact education programs.
Conduct, analyze, and compute evaluation techniques and tools for all license and continuing education programs. Evaluate all instructors and trainers.
Conduct regular feedback sessions with instructors to improve student experience(s).
Provide regular instructor training sessions.
Identify authors for curriculum development. Oversee the curriculum writing process, negotiate compensation, and negotiate ownership or adoption of new curriculum.
Determine appropriateness of CE credit for new curriculum. When appropriate oversee the submittal and approval process.
Oversee compliance for the real estate commission.
Serve as staff liaison to the CT Commercial Real Estate Alliance and Broker Services committee.
Coordinate all aspects of the annual CT Commercial Real Estate Conference.
Coordinate all aspects of the GHAR REALTOR® Education Day. (Hosted every 2 years on the even years.)
Work in coordination with Member Services Manager and Director of IT to plan conferences.
Work in coordination with the Director of Marketing to formulate the professional development marketing plan including but not limited to curriculum summary content for placement on the website and social media.
Work with Association Services Coordinator to hire instructors for pre-licensing programs.
Attend REALTOR Education Director conferences and programs and network with peers.
Perform other tasks assigned by the CEO and Director of Finance and Operations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Proficiency in technology: computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Adobe Acrobat), online virtual platforms and an ability to learn quickly.
Experience in the real estate business, association management, or a vast knowledge thereof.
Business Acumen: aligns work with strategic goals; conducts cost-benefit analyses; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; understands business implications of decisions.
Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills.
Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, leadership, service providers, peers in other organizations and, most importantly, GHAR members.
A team player with collaborative approach to project management.
Creativity, initiative, and follow-through.
Exceptional customer service and support skills.
Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Associates degree or higher
Program management and implementation.
3-5 years of REALTOR® Association experience.

Be stationery: 90% office work requiring extended periods of a stationary position and working on computer.

Exchange information: this position frequently communicates with members and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
