Investments & Wealth Institute, a not-for-profit credentialing and membership association serving the global financial services industry, located in Greenwood Village, Colorado, seeks to hire a full-time, exempt Community & Membership Manager for a dynamic role advancing the nonprofit mission and objectives, which includes elevating the competency and professionalism of financial advice delivered to the public.
The Community and Membership Manager is responsible for creating a positive member, volunteer, sponsor, and public experience as manager of the Institute online community platform – The Hive. The Community and Membership Manager will work closely with team members on content management, site moderation, engagement strategies, and analytics in order to drive online member engagement and collaboration through our member community. The Manager will also be responsible for various administrative duties to maintain knowledge center content within the platform, in collaboration with the Content Management Team. The role is also responsible for the execution and delivery of the overall Membership strategy.
Community Management
Support the adoption and drive growth of the Investments & Wealth community platform (The Hive) in accordance with established strategies and policies.
Coordinate with and provide excellent customer service and support to stakeholders across the association to ensure its effectiveness.
Manage The Hive community platform on a day-to-day basis, including partnering with the knowledge center content team, working with sponsors, aligning with MarCom team, and ensuring that users adhere to our Usage Policy and Conditions.
Oversee all technical aspects of the online community, including working with the vendor’s Strategic Services Manager (Higher Logic) to address, resolve, and communicate issues related to the features and functionality of the platform.
Monitor and measure the success of community engagement and provide updates as needed to help identify trends and report on our KPIs.
Engage members through best practices: Post events and announcements, monitor community member posts and activity, refresh knowledge centers, seed discussions to engage in online dialogues and respond within our agreed upon timeframe.
Work closely with IWI staff, committee liaisons and contributor volunteers to ensure The Hive communities are effective in meeting their objective to provide an educational, easily navigable experience, that encourages members and sponsor partners to network and collaborate effectively.
Work closely with all departments and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless experience that encourages participation and ongoing refreshes.
Train and empower community champions (Staff, volunteers, and sponsors) to participate on a more significant engagement level.
Develop and maintain community and website training resources, guidelines, and policies for internal and external users.
Develop and Manage the Global IWI Community site and Membership/Partner base.
Membership Management
Implement and manage our association membership growth and retention strategy by targeting each of our Member segments uniquely.
Directly manage to our Membership KPIs by implementing tactics to move the needle on all key metrics.
Drive the Premium Package upgrade strategy and tactics to ensure growth and adoption of our Tiered Membership Packages, so that quarterly and annual targets get met.
In partnership with the Membership and Community Specialist, produce quarterly reports that summarize our Membership status.
Leverage the Community platform as a means to raise engagement of our members and candidates, and also provide an invaluable experience for our prospective members.
Partner with our Certification and Online Education Teams to ensure all candidate resource centers are updated and maintained between our relevant platforms (Higher Logic, LMS, AMS)
Manage the Job Board postings, contract, and sponsorships.
Manage the Advisor Search directory and repository platform.
In partnership with Certification growth and Marketing, expand the outreach of our Scholarship Program to perspective members.
Other Responsibilities
Perform other related duties within the scope of position as required.
In collaboration with Director of Professional Development, volunteers and other staff manage the community, initiatives, and activities surrounding the THRIVE Center for Diversity & Inclusion.
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional experience as a Community Manager required.
Experience working with community management systems, (Higher Logic), preferred.
Association experience is required.
Experience with association management systems, specifically NetFORUM, preferred.
Background in Financial Services preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent customer service support and troubleshooting abilities.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
Professional and personable demeanor. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team with staff across all IWI departments and importantly, with our sponsor partners, volunteers, and collaborators.
Well-organized and able to prioritize tasks in a self-directed, virtual environment.
Ability to organize and manage content for easy search and retrieval.
Detail-oriented with demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making and time management skills.
Familiar with all forms of existing and emerging media including web, mobile and social.
Knowledge of content delivery formats for upload including PDF, podcasts, video, and micro-learning assets.
