Reporting to the Marketing Leader, the Growth Consultant will play a key role on the Growth Team and work closely with Marketing. The Growth Consultant is responsible for prospecting activities with the goal of scheduling demos for the Director of Growth to fill the top of the sales pipeline.
This position requires highly effective customer relationship skills, communication/interpersonal skills, the ability to work autonomously and critically think, as well as previous experience and a proven track record in a similar role. Billhighway HQ is located in Troy, MI, however, this role can be performed remotely from any US-based location.
The position is directly responsible for a wide range of activities (but not limited to):
Business development outreach to prospects that have been previously qualified by the marketing team. The expected result of outreach efforts is to schedule appointments/demos between the prospect and the Billhighway Director of Growth
Reporting progress on qualified accounts and outreach activities once per week in check-in meeting with the Marketing team.
Collaborating with Director of Growth on a monthly basis to coordinate revitalize existing opportunities in the pipeline that have slowed or gone cold.
Collaborate with Marketing and align on prospect campaigns and activities such as webinars, tradeshows, account-based marketing initiatives, and more.
Attend industry events/tradeshows when applicable.
Key Characteristics/Skills We’re Seeking:
Strategic Sales/Relationship Building Skills: Must be able to personalize and customize prospect outreach based on prospect insight and feedback. Reliance on canned scripts provided by the Marketing team will not cut it.
Creative: Must be able to be strategic/creative in sales outreach approaches to break through the clutter, make a positive impression and, build relationships with prospects.
Self-Starter: Must be able to work autonomously without a lot of direction from the team once expectations and tasks have been provided. Being a self-starter with strong time management skills is key.
Problem Solver: The ability to be proactive, problem solve and handle uncertainty.
Salesforce: Salesforce experience is a huge bonus. Activities within Salesforce include managing tasks and follow-ups, documenting prospect touchpoints and updating data in prospect Account fields.
Value Proposition: The ability to learn and articulate basic value propositions of the Billhighway technology solution to prospects in a meaningful, tailored way based on prospect data and insight Marketing has acquired. We will train and coach you along the way to ensure you’re set up for success.
Collaboration: The ability to collaborate and be a team player. This role will work closely with the Marketing team and Director of Growth.
Quality over Quantity: Must value quality of the prospect outreach and connections made with prospects above the number of outreaches completed per day.
Relationships: Must be a “people person” and be able to connect with others, relate to their feelings/thoughts and build relationships.
Verbal Communication Skills: Willing and enthusiastic about picking up the phone and having one-on-one conversations with prospects.
Written Communication Skills: Must have strong written communication skills and the ability to convey value over email through tactful outreach.
Valued Partner: This role requires the ability to communicate value to prospects without coming across as a “used car salesperson”, but genuinely wanting to help and serve the industry and our prospects.
Listening Skills: Strong active listening skills are required to be able to hear and recognize prospect challenges and align your outreach messaging with those challenges or pain points.

What you will need:
5+ years of selling experience with large-scale organizations.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
Proven track record meeting and/or exceeding sales prospecting goals.
Familiarity with the professional and trade association industry is a bonus.

Additional Salary Information: This role has traditionally been a combination of hourly rate + result-based incentives.
