The Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator position works closely with the Senior Director of Membership and the Chief Programs Officer and provides operational support to the NABA Membership Department and Programs Department. This position provides coordination of tasks and services associated with chapter relations, membership operations, and programming.
The Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator will provide support in maintaining the association and chapters websites, in addition to driving the continuing professional education (CPE) and student member scholarship programs.
The Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator will have at least an understanding of member servicing (customer service), member engagement, and continuing professional education standards. This position has moderate interaction with volunteer leadership, but significant interaction with members and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
CHAPTER RELATIONS & MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT Under the direction of the Senior Director of Membership, the Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator will support professional and student chapter compliance and operations and assists in maintaining relevant chapter websites, while also providing membership operations support (email, fax and mail within 24-hours). Responsibilities will also include:
Responding to customer service inquires, membership application and payment processing, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Coordinating onboarding efforts for all new members (across all member categories) and will be evaluated on successfully responding to membership requests, including verification of membership status, generating dues invoices, profile updates, purchase orders, membership information, subscriptions, and successfully learn and assist with maintaining NABA’s Association Management System (AMS), which includes processing of new and renewing members and data validation.
Curate chapter event materials and best practices for publishing through all methods of communications by NABA, i.e., website, social media, email, print, etc.
PROGRAMS SUPPORT Under the direction of the Chief Programs Officer, the Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, and execution of membership programs (i.e. National Scholarship, Continuous Professional Education, ACAP, CPA Bound, NABA Next, etc.), including monitoring correspondence and administrative items (i.e. document support and archiving, process improvement, etc.).
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION SUPPORT Under the direction of the Chief Programs Officer, the Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator will oversee the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) approval process, enforcing CPE compliance standards, and providing post-event servicing (i.e., prepare and distribute all CPE certificates to event attendees and requestor for filing) and organize and maintain all CPE-related documents in accordance with compliance standards.
NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP Under the direction of the Chief Programs Officer and the Senior Director of Membership, the Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator will serve as the primary contact person to respond to general inquiries about NABA’s scholarship program (submission process, flights and rooming arrangements for scholars, awards distribution, general information, etc.) and facilitate the scholarship process under the guides of the association’s policies. Additional responsibilities include:
Managing the online application process and assist with updating policies, procedures, website, and marketing materials.
Act as liaison for the NABA Scholarship Committee.
ACAP, CPA BOUND & OTHER MEMBER PROGRAMS Under the direction of the Chief Programs Officer, the Chapter Relations and Programs Coordinator will assist in the execution of the National Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP), which is designed to increase the understanding of accounting and business career opportunities among high school students from underrepresented ethnic groups. This position also acts as the liaison to the National ACAP Task Force.
Further, this position assists in the support and execution of the CPA Bound Program. The CPA Bound program supports NABA members seeking to obtain their CPA license. Additional areas of responsibility include supporting the programs team in executing various programs that include webinars, Board of Directors meetings, the National Convention, etc.
TOOLS & RESOURCES The candidate for this position should have knowledge of or can successfully learn to use technical resources such as Zoom, Smartsheet, Survey Gizmo, and other polling and survey tools.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Minimum – Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience working in a Professional Association or similar membership-based organization or customer service field.
Must have impeccable attention to detail and value the importance of member servicing in a professional and poised manner via email, telephone, and in-person, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Exceptional communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are essential to this position.
Demonstration of reliability is expected.
Proven computer skills are required, including MS Word and Excel, and preferred experience in PowerPoint and Google Apps. Experience with membership database programs is preferred.
Able to exercise good judgment; discretion is necessary.

Additional Salary Information: The final starting salary will be based on the candidate's level of experience.
