FPSA, a Northern Virginia-based trade association for suppliers to the food processing packaging industry is seeking a Director for it's Network Programs with the goal of helping these vibrant member-based platforms thrive and expand their engagement with the Association.
The Director of Networks and Special Projects manages the existing Networks and volunteer leadership in the substantive content of interest relevant to each group and assists in the distribution of this work throughout the Association. This work includes webinars, white papers, podcasts, and a variety of other media developed in conjunction with members. In addition, this work will lead to educational sessions delivered at FPSA Conferences and at our biennial trade show PROCESS EXPO.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Membership, Business Development and Special Projects. In this position, the Director also coordinates with the Networks with industry councils in an effort to best determine how important issues are perceived and handled differently throughout different sectors of the diverse food and beverage industry. The Director will be expected to work with the SVP on an ongoing basis to recruit members to the Networks, as well as consider new opportunities for potential Networks based on changing market needs and opportunities. The ideal candidate should be organized, outgoing, have experience in engaging with volunteer members and enjoy working in a small office environment.
Essential Job Functions
Create new avenues of participation for FPSA members and provide substantive content development for food industry segments.
Serves as liaison between networks and councils. Participates in network and council meetings and conferences.
Working with committees and councils, secure whitepapers and other research for the committee/council section of FPSA's website.
Organize and host conference calls (30-40 annually) webinar series (20-30 annually), podcasts and other educational forums throughout the year.
Work with committees and councils, developing content and programs for educational sessions at FPSA's annual conference and trade show.
Recruit members to participate in committees, councils and networks.
Works with staff at PROCESS EXPO on substantive educational programming and materials.
Develop and disseminate through social media, content for networks.
Provides content for monthly membership newsletter and quarterly network newsletter.
Strong project management skills with attention to detail including the ability to coordinate workflow, determine priorities, meet deadlines and effectively balance competing demands.
Other Job Functions
Report to SVP of Membership and Business Development.
Maintain records in the Association's membership database.
The ability to travel for work including weekends on occasion.
Other duties as assigned, which could evolve based on changing business needs.
