The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) is a thriving professional association for PreK-12 school business managers, facility directors, district administrators and others who lead and manage the operational side of Wisconsin public schools.
Our mission is to provide professional development for our members, foster a network of collegial support, and advocate for adequate funding to ensure outstanding educational opportunities for all Wisconsin children.
WASBO seeks an experienced, creative and highly skilled professional to serve as the Accounting Coordinator. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals to meet the vision and mission of WASBO.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Prepare financial reports and various conference financial statements
Oversee cash management and investments
Process payroll and prepare necessary payroll reports including W2’s and 1099’s
Manage accounting operations, which include accounts receivable and accounts payable
Oversee the system of internal controls for a small organization to minimize risk
Assist auditors and provide required statement and information for the annual audit
Review budget reports and assist with annual budget development
Coordinate the preparation of the 990 tax return
Comply with local, state, and federal government requirements
Maintain a document system of accounting policies and procedures
Provide oversight of accounting transactions in Association Management Software (iMIS)
Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures
Administer health and benefit plans, including enrollment, changes and terminations
Communicate changes affecting benefits coverage
Prepare reports related to benefits
Along with a collaborative work style, accuracy and attention to detail, and a passion for serving others, you’ll need the following:
Education: Bachelor's Degree accounting, business, or other related field Experience: Three years of professional experience, working with or for associations is beneficial, accounting and human resource background is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Quickbooks - familiarity with association management systems is beneficial
Knowledge of general office procedures, familiarity with common business equipment and proficiency in keyboarding and computers
Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively and maintain confidentiality. Ability to lead and participate on teams
Some overnight travel is required.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
