POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager supports the advancement of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals and the Nutrition and Foodservice Education Foundation through the development and expansion of partnership programs with industry stakeholders. Programs include the sale and execution of annual marketing programs, event participation, and Foundation sponsorship and grant opportunities. This position manages and executes ANFP trade shows held in conjunction with national and regional meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
CORPORATE PARTNER PROGRAM SALES
Establish and expand relationships with ANFP corporate partners and prospective partners through ongoing account management, prospect development, sales calls, and attendance at related industry events and tradeshows.
Create and fulfill annual Market Advantage Programs with partners, inclusive of the following marketing opportunities: Corporate Partner memberships, print and digital advertising and sponsorship opportunities, sponsorship and exhibit space for ANFP live events, sponsorship opportunities for Continuing Education programs.
Create data analytic reports to measure effectiveness of various ANFP corporate partner program offerings, for use in marketing initiatives, program evaluation, and dissemination of ROI to partners.
Generate revenue for the Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation through the sale of sponsorships and grant opportunities.
With Executive Vice President, create and execute an annual sales and marketing plan for all aspects of corporate partner engagement and revenue stream growth.
Create promotional campaigns to support sales and marketing plans, and coordinate production and delivery with Marketing department.
Make recommendations for new Corporate Partner marketing opportunities, or revisions to existing Corporate Partner programs
Oversee the production of the annual Corporate Partner Guide, Advertising, Exhibit and Sponsorship Contract forms
Attend ANFP IAC meetings with Executive Vice President, Strategic Initiatives.
EXHIBIT MANAGEMENT
Coordinate Exhibit Service Provider RFP and selection, and manage exhibitor details, contracts, show floor design, and exhibitor service kit.
Assign booth space for Regional Meetings and ACE.
Manage event sponsor fulfillment with Meetings Manager.
Coordinate show signage with Marketing and Exhibit Service contractor; order miscellaneous show materials.
Serve as onsite Expo manager, and key contact for exhibitors, Exhibit Service Provider, and venue personnel.
Work with the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator to manage all exhibit and sponsor contracts, activities and deliverables.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, hospitality, marketing, or related discipline preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCY:
Minimum 3 years of Association or corporate level experience in the areas of business development/non-dues revenue sales, Foundation development, and Trade Show coordination/management.
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals while highly motivated to maximize program quality and customer satisfaction.
Knowledge and experience in Consultative Sales for Advertising, Sponsorship, and Exhibit programs, pipeline development, and marketing.
Sales Database management, with NetForum experience a plus.
Knowledge of Exhibit/Trade Show management, including selection and management of Exhibit Service Contractor; Exhibit floor layout and booth selection/assignment procedures; Exhibitor contract management; onsite show management.
Foundation Development knowledge and experience in soliciting corporate sponsorship and grant funding.
Understanding of the use and application of data analytics for program assessment, promotion, and fulfillment.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Strong presentation skills and proposal development skills.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
CEM and/or CAE designation a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Bending and lifting, must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
POSITION TYPE AND HOURS OF WORK
Full time, Monday through Friday, occasional evening or weekend work, occasional overtime.
