The American Urological Association (AUA), the premier urologic association providing support to the urologic community, is currently searching for an Administrative Specialist in the Committee and Society Affairs department. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, have strong communication and collaboration skills, intermediate database skills, attention to detail, and work well with executive leadership.
This position provides administrative support to the department, provides staff support for the Awards Committee and administers projects. Maintains contracts database and records of AUA Sections, urologic societies, and affiliated medical organizations. Provides executive administrative support for the Board of Directors, committee members, other AUA members, and staff. Routinely updates the governance area of the Association’s website.
The individual in this position will:
Administers the production and distribution of AUA Awards, coordinates with external stakeholders, vendors and AUA staff regarding awards program manages AUA Awards database, and provides staff support to AUA Awards Committee.
Maintains and organizes contracts database, providing updates and information to General Counsel and staff to facilitate the contract review process.
Assists in compiling and distributing the AUA and Urology Care Foundation Board of Directors rosters, agendas, reports and other materials relating to the Board.
Provides administrative support to department, including maintenance of database records.
Administers annual update of the AUA Resource Manual (online publication about the association, its programs and departments).
Administers the volunteer recognition program.
Administers AUA’s Guest Lecture program (processing grant payments and support of related organizations).
Assists with planning and preparation for Annual Meeting.
Provides support to CSA Coordinator regarding committee appointments process and committee database.

Candidates must be able to provide superior service delivery while working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. The individual in this role must have strong organizational, database and communication skills. In addition:
Some college required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
3-5 years of administrative experience
Experience in use of databases required (database management skills a significant plus)
Advanced Microsoft Office skill level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with updating websites (knowledge of HTML helpful)
High level and consistent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
