The WateReuse Association seeks a Program and Policy Manager, a full-time position reporting to Director of Strategic Operations. The Program and Policy Manager is responsible for assisting with program content, policy and advocacy-related activities, and communications tasks.
Specifically, the position will be responsible for the following:
Policy and Advocacy: Assists Policy Director in advancing the Association’s legislative and regulatory policy goals. Specific responsibilities include: o Identifying and analyzing data, case studies and other information, and preparing policy-related research and briefing materials; o Drafting advocacy reports for weekly member newsletter; o Assisting with development of legislative and regulatory policy proposals.
Programs: Assists with program-related projects that require research, information management, and meeting organization for programming on behalf of our members. Specific projects needing support include: o Developing content related Annual Symposium o Public Health and Medical Community Initiative o National Blue Ribbon Commission for On-site Non-potable Systems.
General content development: Assists with development of additional content for web seminars, website and policy briefings on behalf of our members.
Communications and Outreach: Assists with preparation of weekly membership newsletter, website management, and serves as liaison to strategic organizational partners as needed.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher with a preference for a degree in science, engineering, environmental policy or other subject matter relevant to water resources; exemplary writing and communications skills (ability to write quickly under deadlines); experience organizing meetings or small events; and experience working with volunteers and coalitions. Successful candidate will enjoy working with a small team of professionals in a high-pace office environment. Occasional travel required; competitive salary and benefits offered.
