The Membership Coordinator is the main person interacting with membership, by means of telephone, email and onsite management of the registration desk. Responsibilities include customer service, data entry, responding to email and telephone inquiries, event setup, application processing, payment processing, report generation, and administrative functions. The position interacts daily with the executive director, members / volunteers and all internal departments.
Areas of responsibility includes:
Provide exceptional customer service in the work environment
Timely respond to all inquiries related to membership, registration and volunteers, and internal departments
Process event registration, membership payments, provide registration confirmations and prepare financial spreadsheet for the accounting department
Maintain integrity of the database information and generate queries and reports as required
Manage dues mailings, event badge processes and maintain exceptional financial records.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Associates degree preferred or prior related work experience
Minimum of two to three years’ experience working in a non-profit organization
Work experience in an associations or registration a plus
Strong database and record maintenance experience (minimum of two years database experience preferred)
Excellent customer service skills (minimum of three years customer service experience preferred)
Strong Microsoft office experience, proficient in word processing, spreadsheets (i.e. Excel), database entry, and in the use of email & internet
Detail oriented, good organizational skills, and ability to follow instructions
Excellent communication skills both oral and written skills required
Works well independently and as part of a team
Able to travel to industry events and participate in off-site meetings as required
