Sales Relationship Manager The Institutes are the leader in delivering proven knowledge solutions that drive powerful business results for the risk management and property casualty industry. We are looking for a dedicated, driven and enthusiastic sales individual who works well in a fast-paced and changing environment. Join a committed and experienced team to help develop and improve the sponsorship and partnership programs at a leading risk & insurance non-profit. The Sales Relationship Manager is responsible for exceeding target sponsorship revenue goals by identifying, developing and maintaining strategic relationships with new and existing sponsor/partner prospects for The Institutes, its subsidiaries, and its affiliates (The Institutes). The ideal candidate will be creative, adaptable, detail-oriented and happy to work in a collaborative environment.
Essential Responsibilities 1. In collaboration with the Director of Partnerships, develop a sustainable plan to most effectively meet or exceed sales targets with a goal of developing long-term sustainable partners. 2. Thrive in a forward-thinking non-profit environment which includes alignment with The Institutes core values with both internal and external customers. 3. Ability to consistently build & work a sales cycle including a high volume of cold calling and external outreach. 4. Keep precise records within the sponsorship CRM of sponsor interactions, history and agreements. 5. Be innovative – ability to consistently look for opportunities to work more effectively, serve our customers in deeper ways, and ultimately move the risk management community forward benefiting consumers. 6. Be flexible – be an active learner of both the risk management industry and sales best practices. 7. Utilize traditional and emerging communication platforms to engage current sponsors and prospects, which may include in person meetings or events. 8. Utilize shared resources effectively in order to execute goals. This includes collaboration with marketing, sales, accounting, solutions, and affiliated organizations to promote long- term, consistent revenue. 9. Be comfortable with data and embrace data as essential to success. This includes maintaining data quality and utilizing data to drive decisions. 10. Maintain knowledge of conference timelines and sponsorship deadlines.
Education and Experience * Bachelor’s degree required * 5+ years of sales and or sponsorship experience required * Experience in managing budgets and metrics required * Strong creativity and out of the box thinking for development of engagement strategies * Excellent project management and on-site trouble shooting skills
