The Senior Membership Specialist has primary responsibility for dues invoicing, collection, and reporting and will continually seek to improve the department’s effectiveness. The Senior Specialist leads ACE’s member services, working with the Membership Coordinator to answer all external and internal inquiries and provide excellent and timely responses. The Senior Specialist will also partner with the Membership Director to ensure ACE meets its operational goals by assisting with tactical implementation of membership recruitment, retention, and engagement plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR TASKS: Key Responsibilities:
• Manage member service functions so that member needs are met quickly and effectively. Continually seek to enhance service and implement new procedures. In addition, provide excellent service to internal clients who seek assistance with member-related questions and projects. • Coordinate with Membership staff and various internal departments to execute year-long member dues billing and renewal processes and report on results. • Manage database operations including: • Reporting and trend analysis • Updating records • Analyzing and maintaining data quality • Working with ITS to make enhancements and improve effectiveness • Work cross-functionally on data governance • Work with membership director on monthly retention and onboarding tactics including creating and coordinating mailings, phone calls, and emails. • Special projects as assigned that may relate to annual meeting, website development, product development, and/or cross-functional teams.
Key Relationships: Internal: Membership, Marketing, Web Services, IT, Finance, and ACE program staff External: ACE members, prospective members, vendors, other constituents
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of databases and/or CRM/association management system is required including ability to query, run reports, create and update records • Results-driven • Must be able to understand the intended result and be able to create and execute the step-by-step tasks needed to accomplish the goal • Must be task oriented and self-starter • Extremely well-organized, goal-oriented and very high attention to detail • Must be articulate and comfortable contacting members to track down information, follow up on lapsed memberships, and respond to inquiries • Exceptional oral/written communications, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree required • Five to seven years in similar role, preferably at an association or nonprofit organization • Experience working in CRM or other association management tools
