At the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) the Director of Corporate Development and IOH will play an integral part of the senior team. The director will work across the organization, with stakeholders, and ADHA leadership to generate non-dues revenue through sponsorship and other opportunities that will contribute to growing the dental hygiene profession.
Strategy
Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting related to ADHA’s strategic and annual operating plans.
Lead the strategic functions and operations of ADHA’s corporate relations and the Institute for Oral Health.
Strategically assess, plan and drive ADHA’s corporate development activities and Institute for Oral Health (IOH) to meet ADHA’s and IOH’s goals, objectives, and strategies.
Fundraising
Act as corporate contact/liaison for ADHA and IOH.
Develop, solicit/negotiate, contract and grow partnership and sponsorship opportunities for the association.
Direct all association fundraising activities and coordinate other association staff and external agencies to assure continuity.
Oversee all sponsorship deliverables to ensure appropriate execution has been done.
Work inter-divisionally with all directors and staff to receive accurate information on dental hygiene issues of possible interest to corporate industry.
Provide consultation to constituents with state fundraising initiatives when appropriate.
Institute for Oral Health
Cultivate and solicit major donors for the Institute to include grant proposals and other related material as required.
Develop and maintain a system of regular personal contact with representatives whose corporations are current or potential donors.
Provide operational support and strategic direction to the Institute for Oral Health Board of Directors, Advisory Committee, Scholarship Review Committee, Research Grant Review Committee, and Community Service Grant Review Committee.
Direct and oversee all items related to IOH including liaison programs and resources, website information, scholarship, research grant and community service grant programs, donation, public relations, and marketing initiatives.
Division-wide
Collaboratively manage and support ADHA’s marketing and communications efforts provided by ADHA’s communications consultant to ensure they are effective, on budget and meeting division needs.
Provide direction and support in the execution of assigned corporate sponsored programs and ensure that all program goals, strategies and metrics are implemented and monitored to meet program objectives.
Collaboratively develop and support ADHA’s Annual Conference sponsorship efforts through the division and intra-divisional initiatives.
Collaboratively support ADHA’s membership recruitment and retention efforts through the division and intra-divisional initiatives.
Develop, manage, and monitor direct and related budgets.
Provide support to assigned special committees, ad hoc workgroups and task forces.
Supervise and cultivate a high-functioning division.
Oversee the knowledge management documentation process to capture key division workflow.

Experience: Must have a minimum of five years fundraising, development or sales tradeshow management experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
Experience on senior staff or management team preferred.
Skills: Demonstrated ability to organize and implement fundraising activities for both the association (501 c 6) and IOH (501 c 3) and tradeshow management essential. Proven ability to manage a comparably sized budget and supervise staff required. Outstanding leadership, negotiation, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential. Knowledge of grant applications and proposal writing is preferred. Must possess excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to work well with boards and member/corporate relationships. Excellent organizational abilities and detail oriented. Willingness to travel as necessary.
