The Manager of Marketing & Education reports directly to the Senior VP of Education & Business Services and is a key member of the Marketing, Education, Meetings and Membership team. This individual manages initiatives designed to promote association benefits and services and deliver value to members; executes marketing campaigns for association events, programs and partnerships; and supports the planning and implementation of events throughout the year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Marketing and Communications: Manage and implement the overall marketing plan and campaigns for ASLRRA events, programs and partnerships by creating and distributing marketing and communications materials and handling social media. Responsibilities include:
Maintain association website: build new web pages and regularly refresh content for all areas of site to ensure information is relevant and current; post weekly newsletters and news releases in a timely manner; handle new website development projects as needed
Create marketing calendar and implement marketing campaigns
Write copy and design collateral material including print and electronic ads, post cards, brochures, event signage and programs and email blasts. Manage all phases of the effort—from creative to production and distribution
Layout and distribute weekly e-newsletter, periodic news releases and other strategic communications elements
Manage association’s social media accounts, generating content from marketing and communications material
Oversee online Communities for ASLRRA Committees, updating content and materials as requested by committee members and staff liaisons
Track and analyze all marketing efforts
Meeting Preparation and Execution: Manage event marketing and promotion and assist with execution of events, including Annual CONNECTIONS Convention, Railroad Day on Capitol Hill, Fall Regional Meetings and Training Seminars. Responsibilities include:
Design and build meeting website pages, using Rise platform
Build event registration framework in iMIS
Design and deliver signage, sponsor programs and other meeting materials
Manage fulfillment of sponsorship benefits, meeting sponsor expectations related to visibility and brand recognition
Participate in on-site event set up; prepare attendee badges and materials; manage on-site registration
Compile and post meeting materials and presentations to website post-event
Handle post-event survey distribution, collection, tabulation and analysis
Membership Services: Support the membership services team by answering calls and responding to emails from members and non-members requesting information and assistance. Additionally, serve as staff liaison for select ASLRRA Committees and membership groups as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Extensive marketing collateral design experience
Excellent writing and presentation skills and high attention to detail
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum four years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities outlined above, preferably in a membership association setting
Experience with marketing, project management and event management
Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and social media platforms (facebook, twitter, LinkedIn) required
Experience with email distribution systems and online survey tools and forms, including iContact, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, JotForm, Canva and Google Docs and Analytics strongly preferred
Experience with iMIS / Rise database system strongly preferred
