Essential Job Duties
This is a highly responsible membership marketing and service position, which focuses on working closely with the Membership Director, Membership Coordinators and ACF Chapters to recruit and retain members. Serving as the key Chapter liaison, the individual implements membership recruitment and retention strategies to grow membership. In addition, the person plays a central role in implementing the 5-Year Membership Plan detailed in the Strategic Framework document. Critical responsibilities include:
Building engagement, focus and commitment on membership recruitment/retention with Chapter staff: presidents, vice president, board members and committee chairpersons.
Creating membership recruitment and retention programs that are effective at the chapter level.
Working closely with Chapter staff to implement successful membership recruitment and retention programs.
Establishing and leading on-going Chapter forums that share best practices for membership recruitment and retention among Chapters (i.e. call-ins, webinars, social media, etc.).
Available for occasional evening teleconferences to facilitate Chapter collaboration.
Developing turnkey membership marketing programs and materials that Chapters can easily utilize.
Training Chapter staff and volunteer leaders on programs for successful implementation and providing consultative support as appropriate.
Preparing and completing chapter rebate mailings.
Helping refine ACF’s member value proposition by delivering enhanced programs, products and services.
Responding to inquiries that come in by phone and email. Fulfilling requests and resolving issues within 24 hours.
Accurately processing payments including data entry for new member joins and renewals.
Ensuring positive experience for members/constituents on phone, online and in person at all times.
Assisting as needed with invoicing, updates and communications for property memberships.
Maintaining in-depth knowledge of ACF programs, services and benefits with ability to articulate succinctly.
Preparing for annual Board of Governors and other member meetings, which may include pre- and post-meeting administration, presentations, credentialing, elections/voting, and other communications for Board of Governors.
Establishing new Chapters (from application review to charter recognition) while maintaining chapter documentation.
Monitoring chapter listings on ACF website and providing prompt information updates, URL corrections, etc.
Developing and maintaining online chapter announcements, meetings calendars, and resources.
Maintaining up-to-date policy and procedure documentation and training materials for business continuity.
Available for possible multi-day travel to represent ACF at tradeshows several times a year.
Skills: solid project implementation and people skills, prioritizing, multi-tasking, problem-solving, attention to detail, collaboration, inbound/outbound telephone, excellent written/verbal skills, able to see “big picture” and tries new things.
Technical skills: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, interfacing with databases.
Principal interactions: ACF team (Communications/Marketing, Technology, Events, Finance, Certification), Chapters, Members, Volunteer leaders, Vendor/Partners.
Experience: prefer experience in service-driven association or business with strong focus on serving members or customers. Desire candidate with marketing experience and ability to implement projects while building collaborative relationships with all personality types. College degree preferred.
Job Competency & Assessment standards: Builds outstanding relationships with Membership Department Team, ACF staff, Chapter personnel, and volunteer leaders for purpose of recruiting and retaining members; reported results demonstrate success. Strong self-starter who works independently and can manage projects from start to finish. Maintains close working relationships with current and prospective members, Chapters, Board members, Vendors, and ACF team. Values, Characteristics and Skills listed above are as critical as prior accomplishments and demonstrated skills/competency.
Requires a valid Florida driver’s license and dependable transportation. Must be willing to travel up to three times a year, for at least four days at a time. The ACF is drug-free and smoke-free workplace.
