The Maryland Land Title Association (MLTA) is seeking an experienced full-time Executive Director to assist the Board in managing and expanding the association. MLTA provides licensing and continuing education, advocacy, and networking opportunities for the Maryland land title industry. The ED will take a leading role in implementing the association’s strategic plan, executing the Fall Convention, developing and executing a comprehensive membership growth strategy, managing communications, and directing the association’s portfolio of other activities, including a comprehensive, state-regulated continuing education program.
This position requires approximately 40 hours/week, 1099 contractor; telecommute from your home office. No physical office space or computer equipment for the incumbent will be provided. Work hours will be concentrated in the lead up and execution of the Fall Convention which takes place in early September. Must be able to travel to monthly Board meetings in central Maryland; quarterly chapter meetings and periodic events in different regions of Maryland; other events (Lobby Day, Crab Feast); the Fall Convention in Annapolis; as well as to the national convention once a year, which rotates to various locations around the country (travel expenses covered by MLTA). Estimated offsite days per year = 20 days
Strong communication & management skills
Website management (some HTML preferred)
Regulated CE program management
General understanding of the title insurance or financial services industry (preferred)
The duties of the ED include, but are not limited to:
Reception & Communications: Emails, listserv, mass emails
Ability to coach, manage, and develop high-performance teams in a remote, contract & volunteer environment
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
Budgeting & strategic planning experience
Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple assignments & simultaneous priorities under pressure & complete tasks in a timely manner
Ability to work from home-office & provide required equipment per contractor status
Incumbent will be provided with up to 20 hours of remote training by the exiting ED. Incumbent will be responsible for transfer of physical association properties to new home office.
