ENA is looking for a motivated leader, one committed to member engagement, to join the ENA team! The Director, Member Engagement is responsible for the development and implementation of all member-focused programs that effectively advance the association’s mission, vision, goals and values. This role is also responsible for driving member engagement, recruitment, retention and value through targeted execution of core programs, campaigns and dedicated online member community.
Position responsibilities include:
Cultivate and oversee a team that provides member-centered, service-oriented support to members and components.
Develop and oversee the implementation of member recruitment, retention and engagement strategies, programs and campaigns.
Provide vision and oversee the membership structure that provides growth and opportunities for all levels of member engagement.
Work closely with state and chapter leadership to support local-level membership and engagement plans. Assist state and chapter development and growth.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to identify priorities, campaigns and programs that support membership initiatives and growth. This includes identifying trends, evaluating needs and initiating the creation and development of new membership related resources or tools through research and input from local state and chapter leadership.
Design, recommend and administer programs that ensure compliance, support growth and encourage performance-based metrics and best practices across state councils and chapters. This includes strong partnership with board liaisons and staff to provide support for state council issues.
Develop and execute programs that support state leadership development and ongoing education for state and chapter leaders.
Assist in strategic planning, as requested, for state and chapter support that includes the development of state assignments, visits and key priorities of engagement focused on targeted service and support.
Partner with key stakeholders to ensure strategic membership messaging and value in all ENA communications, publications, social media and digital platforms.
Oversee the staff liaison to the Academy of Emergency Nursing. Provide guidance to the group in completing annual charges and creating long-term strategic plans that complement ENA strategic plan.
Oversee the national committee process, providing various opportunities for member engagement, vision and direction to staff and consistent processes and documentation.
Develop and manage appropriate budgets to support strategic and operational plans.
The ideal candidate will have the following requirements and demonstrated experience:
Bachelor’s degree required preferably in a marketing, communications or related field
Five to seven years of experience in strategic membership role.
Five to seven years management experience required.
Excellent organizational skills, with ability to work independently on assigned tasks
Excellent collaborative communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks within established deadlines
Ability to exercise a high level of discretion and independent judgment
Computer proficiency in Word; data base systems including Access and Excel; Power Point
Ability to interface with staff, board and external partners in a professional manner, including a demonstrated commitment to customer service
Strong staff management and performance management skills essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills essential
Effective public speaking skills essential
Ability to effectively motivate a staff team to organize projects, meet deadlines and continuously evaluate effectiveness of all activities
Strong interpersonal skills required to work with staff and senior leaders
Ability to integrate information and data from various sources and identify trends, needs and strategies essential.
Ability to work efficiently with detail under time constraints
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
Budgeting skills essential.
Strong multi-cultural sensitivity is essential
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required
