The Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), is a professional medical association with a mission centered on education and research geared towards improving patient care. The association membership is comprised mainly of orthopaedic trauma surgeons. There are over 2,300 members, and approximately 20 committees.Headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, the staff works in close collaboration with the leadership in implementing, promoting and continuous evaluation of society programs and initiatives.We seek a Publications and Governance Coordinator to join our team.
The OTA Publications and Governance Coordinator will assist in the coordination of projects of the OTA Publications Committee. This position will also assist the Executive Director with association governance administrative projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate key projects of the OTA Publications Committee including:
OTA International (open access journal)
Provide administrative support to the Editor in Chief (EiC) including:
Assist the EiC, Digital Editor, OTA Executive Director, and Publisher in creating, implementing, and analyzing a marketing plan, this includes marketing via social media, other meetings, online resources, OTA members.
OTA Video Library
Administer the video library submission process including creating and promoting a call for video submissions, tracking submissions, and coordinating the review process with the Video Review Committee.
Collaborate with the OTA publisher in posting and maintenance of videos on the OTA’s online education portal.
Support the video library committee in maintaining the video library; ensure topic gaps are filled and the review process for sunsetting outdated materials is in place.
Coordinate the upload and maintenance process of OTA Annual Meeting videos to the OTA education portal.
Coordinate implementation and maintenance of planned and future projects including online textbooks.
Assist with industry relations to the OTA educational portal (including drafting correspondence, updating presentations, and scheduling meetings).
Coordinate OTA Governance projects, including:
Maintain the OTA volunteer webpage and tracking
Update and track BOD, committee and other volunteer positions
Assist with the committee appointment process tracking and correspondence
Schedule conference calls and meetings
Draft meeting notes and minutes
Approximately 7 - 10 days of travel per year.
2 years of meeting planning and/or association volunteer management experience desired (or other related office experience).
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent member service mentality and delivery; effective verbal and written communications; strong organization and interpersonal skills.Ability to think proactively and creatively.
Must excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Flexible, supportive, and “can do” attitude is crucial to success.This person must have integrity and credibility with leaders, members, vendors, and staff.
