This position is responsible for providing day-to-day support to ACC’s Chapters who represent over 40,000 in-house counsel worldwide.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tracks key chapter activities including leadership updates, educational programs, social events, board of directors meetings, chapter visits, resources and other program segments as requested. Provides reports as requested.
Updates monthly chapter profiles and chapter overview sheets
Manages and coordinates chapter PDF newsletter and print newsletter production process on a quarterly basis, including collecting copy from chapters and ACC in-house copy, editing copy, working with layout designer to create newsletter, reviewing proofs, and final distribution to chapters.
Oversees chapter websites; updates when necessary, including updating leadership and event information, uploading program materials, etc. Works with chapters to improve content. Provide stats to chapters on webpage hits.
Supports Global Community Service Month.
Works with chapters to create chapter surveys and provides survey results to chapters.
Visits 1-2 chapters annually to present chapter services and resources.
Facilitates the development of chapter and committee partnerships in an effort to create opportunities for members to further build relationships and networks with members in similar practice areas or settings.
Moderate discussions and present resources for chapter leaders and administrators during in-person training sessions.
Provides the Legal Resources Department and senior staff key information and talking points in preparation for chapter meetings.
Oversees maintenance of all chapter broadcast email lists, listservs, and eGroups.
Supports the chapter team with meeting preparation for chapter leadership training (twice every year) an annual chapter administrator training.
Assists chapter volunteer leadership by providing customized reports, and fulfilling other requests for information.
Conducts orientation training for new chapter administrators on the use of website, as well as ongoing training for administrators and chapter leaders on various technology offered by ACC including CMS, webcasts and online newsletters.
Identifies new ways to enhance ACC ‘s ability to support chapter leaders and administrators.
Significant 1-year experience working with volunteers in an association or other environment.
Must have experience using Microsoft Excel, Power Point, superior Microsoft Word skills and Adobe.
Superb oral and written communication skills, and adeptness at learning new technology.
Able to demonstrate good judgment; critical thinking skills; and a sense of teamwork and community.
Highly organized with the ability to multi-task, coordinate and work effectively across functions.
Must possess a customer service-oriented demeanor and mature, solutions-oriented approach to problems/conflict.
Self-starter with ability to work independently but demonstrates good judgment to inform and/or seek guidance of superiors as situations may warrant.
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills with the ability to work with culturally different constituencies and personalities.
ACC seeks to hire multi-lingual candidates with fluency in English plus a second language—with a preference in French, German, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Arabic. However, all bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (with some flexibility).
This position does not have any direct reports/supervisory responsibilities.
With the exception of the annual meeting (in the fall), this position does not have any travel requirements.
