GENERAL SUMMARY: Directs and oversees the Academy’s relationship with the planning and execution of more than 24 multi-day live courses held in the Orthopaedic Learning Center (OLC) as well as other CME events developed in collaboration with volunteer leaders and often in partnership with specialty societies.
Participate and ultimately implement the strategy for Practice Management education as proposed by the Board appointed Task Force on Practice Management.
Provide leadership, financial insight, business oversight, and strategic planning for internal teams to drive educational strategy forward. Develop a business plan and implement as planned to meet or exceed the operating budgets as well as delivering education according to the board approved Education Strategy plan.
Responsible for delivering innovative live courses to drive revenue, members value and growth of the Academy’s products and services. Serves as key liaison within the Education Leadership team and works cross collaboratively within the Academy to explore new opportunities, while at the same time ensure adherence to budgets. Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
Bachelor’s degree in English, science, or business management
At least ten years experience as a program or project director of medically related educational products or a related field
Exceptional strategic, verbal and written communications, human relations, and organizational skills
Proven ability to set up and maintain organizational systems and to plan and maintain schedules
Director-level experience in budgeting and financial planning.
At least five years experience working with high-level professionals in an association setting
Proficiency with and/or understanding of CME, live events, content management, publishing and other technologically advanced systems; Proficiency with Microsoft Office and excel
Masters Degree in Business Administration
Previous medical experience
